Strickland-Smallwood Family Cemetery

Cemetery Information

Location:

Approximately 5560 Tyree Road.


Directions:

From downtown Douglasville, travel west approximately 5.0 miles, to Post Road.  Turn left (south) onto Post Road.  Travel approximately 5.7 miles, to Tyree Road.  Turn right (west) onto Tyree Road.  Travel approximately 1.1 miles.  The cemetery should be on your left.  It is in poor condition and heavily overgrown, so it may be difficult to locate.  The Web Master does not believe there are any surviving markers.

Converted to web page by Chuck Jackson on September 10th 2022.
Contains approximately 30 to 40 graves.  Condition is poor.  Loggers have destroyed many stones and debris covers the entire cemetery.  No inscribed stones.

Notes:

If or when the Directions paragraph (above) says "From downtown Douglasville...," it is referring to the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway (U.S. 78) and Campbellton Street.  There is nothing particularly significant about this intersection, it is merely an arbitrarily chosen point of departure, located near the center of the historic section of Douglasville.

You may see zeroes for some parts of dates.  This is an indication that either the information was incomplete or illegible.  If the entire date is missing, it indicates there was no date inscribed.

You may also encounter the abbreviations DCGS, standing for Douglas County Genealogical Society and DCCPC, standing for Douglas County Cemetery Preservation Commission.
