Membership

Why should you join us?  We have a wonderful newsletter, "The Skint Chestnut Logs", published monthly and delivered by email (printed copies are made available for those without email).  It contains a wide variety of genealogical, historical and just plain fun information.

We also have FEATURED SPEAKERS at almost every meeting and these speakers frequently share non-published information.  We also organize group FIELD TRIPS and hold SEMINARS.

Membership is open to all persons interested in genealogy.  Minors may join with written permission from a guardian, but may not hold elected office in the organization prior to reaching adulthood.  As a member, you would be allowed to suggest future projects and help keep us working on the genealogy of Douglas County Families.  By joining our Facebook Group (open to paid members only) you also gain access to copies of all issues of the newsletter (those known to exist, anyway).

The annual dues are $20.00 for an individual or $36 for a couple residing at the same address.

Click the above link to see a list of our current active members along with surnames that they are researching.  It includes both a photo (so you can recognize them when you meet) and an email link to contact them if you believe your research may have a connection with their research, or vice versa.

Apologies for any missing names, but for a long time no one thought keeping a record of no longer active members to be of any value.  And perhaps it isn't, but it does keep the memories alive and only uses a few hundred bytes of our multi-gigabytes of available web space.

Members Eternal

Click the above link to see a list of all our members who have gone on to become a root in their family tree.  This is our rather feeble attempt to memorialize their contributions and their life. - Their work and their life will never be forgotten.
